Accessibility

Applying for financing should not depend on how you browse, see, hear or use a keyboard. Here is where we stand.

Our commitment

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at Level AA, the standard most commonly referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Accessibility is treated as part of building a page rather than something checked afterwards.

What we have built in

  • Semantic HTML structure with a single logical heading order on every page
  • A “skip to content” link as the first focusable element
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators on every interactive element
  • Touch targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels
  • Text that reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels wide
  • Wide tables placed in keyboard-focusable scroll regions with accessible names, and a visible hint when they overflow
  • Text alternatives for images, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology
  • Colour contrast meeting the 4.5 to 1 ratio for body text, with colour never used as the only way to convey meaning
  • Full support for the reduced-motion preference — all animation stops when it is set
  • Form fields with persistent visible labels rather than placeholder-only labelling

Known limitations

We would rather tell you what is imperfect than claim it is not.

  • The online application form on the apply page is supplied by a third party. Its accessibility is outside our direct control, and we are in the process of auditing it. [Record the audit status and the vendor’s accessibility conformance report here.]
  • Some reference tables contain a lot of columns and require horizontal scrolling on a small screen. The content is identical regardless, and the same information is available by telephone.
  • [Add any further findings from the formal audit.]

If the site does not work for you

You can complete an entire application over the telephone with our customer care team — no part of the process requires you to use this website.

Call 888-509-1370 or text 877-202-4165, Mon–Sat 9am–11pm ET and Sun 10am–9pm ET.

Tell us about a barrier

If you encounter something that blocks you, we want to know. Email [email protected] or call the number above. Please tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to give a remediation plan within 15.

How this was assessed

This statement reflects a self-assessment against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. [Commission an independent audit and record the auditor, date and findings here — a self-assessment alone is weak evidence if a complaint is ever made.]
